Internet-based distance learning Master program in GIS
http://www.giscentrum.lu.se/luma-gis/index.htm
Lund University GIS Centre, Sweden, is happy to launch its new “Master’s
Programme in Geographical Information Systems (GIS)” *. The Programme:
* will lead to a Degree of Master in Geographical Information Systems
from Lund University;
* is fully Internet-based - distance learning - except presentation and
defence of the final thesis;
* is flexible in terms of study tempo and learning methods;
* will take 2 years to complete for a full-time student;
* is free of charge for all students (no tuition fees)
We will admit about 100 students per year (equivalent to 40 full-time
students per year). For the deadline of the 1st of March 2004, we will
accept 50 part-time students (study tempo of 25-50%).
To take part in the Programme, you need:
* a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (at least 3 years university studies,
in any discipline)
* access to a computer (at least 10 hours a week) – see section
“Technical Prerequisite”
* any sort of Internet connection (at least 1 hour a week)
- Note: The programme is equivalent to a degree of Master in Sweden. It is
the responsibility of international students to verify if the programme is
also recognized as a degree of Master in their country of origin.
The Programme is a collaboration with the E-GIS project of the European
Commission's Leonardo da Vinci Programme.
