Little over a month is left before the GIS-IDEAS
Symposium is held from in Hanoi 25-28 September,
2002. I would like to express my personal thanks
to all the participants for submitting very
interesting papers to the Symposium.
The Proceeding volume for GIS-IDEAS (about 60 full-papers
covering 350 pages) has been just finalized and dispatched
to the printers. The Proceeding will be made available to
the participants at the Symposium venue.
The GIS-IDEAS web-site has also been updated and is available
at http://gisws.media.osaka-cu.ac.jp/gisideas/
The program for the GIS-IDEAS has also been almost finalized
and can be viewed (also downloaded) for the above mentioned
web-site. The program that is presently made available is
subject to some minor changes.
The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of GIS-IDEAS 2002 has recently
decided that No Registration Fee will be charged to participants
and who have pre-registered for the GIS-IDEAS Symposium.
LOC is also arranging for field trip during the GIS-IDEAS Symposium.
Interested participants wishing to take part in either of the field
trip mentioned below can please send your request to the Symposium
Secratariat before 10th September, 2002.
Field Trip Date: 28th September(Saturday) , 2002
Field trip A: 8:30-16:30 Field Workshop along Red River
(Charge USD 30, includes working lunch)
Field Trip B: 7:30-18:30 Visit to UNESCO World Heritage
Site in Halong Bay
(Charge USD 50 includes lunch)
