month to build an environment and natural resources monitoring system
that
can receive and process satellite images The Defense and Communications
Systems of Europe has signed a 20 million EUR trade deal with the
Ministry
of Natural Resources and Environment to supply Vietnam with a station
which receives images from France's SPOT and the European Space Agency's
ENVISAT satellites.
Once the project is completed after three years of construction, Vietnam
will have the first satellite image receiving system in Southeast Asia.
Using the system Vietnam will be able to monitor sea, water, mineral
resources and the risks of forest fires. - VOV
